Basic Program Information
The USS
SILVERSIDES has a total of 72 bunks. These bunks are separated into four
different compartments. These compartments include the forward torpedo room,
officer's country, crew's quarters, and the aft torpedo room. One group
booking is required to have a group of 20 or more people. However, if
another group less than 72 people is already booked on the night you are
interested in and you have a group with less than 20 people, this is an
acceptable arrangement.
The same arrangements can be made when booking the USCGC McLANE. The McLANE
has 38 bunks and are divided into three different compartments. These
compartments are the crew's quarters, the V-berth, and officer's country.
If your group ends up with more people then expected and the boat is already
full, both the SILVERSIDES and the McLANE can accommodate up to eight
additional cots. We do ask that you inform us of any extra people prior to
your arrival. Sleeping arrangements are assigned by your overnight
supervisor upon your arrival. The Great Lakes Naval Memorial and Museum will
do the best to accommodate all groups as best as possible.
If your group arrives with less people than previously reserved for, you
are expected to pay for the number reserved, not the number present.
